Dog Trainer Apprentice

We are looking to add an apprentice to our staff. We want you to learn from us and be the traininer you want to be. THis is a paid position. wWe do not do the unpaid intern thing.

This post is for people looking to gain experience in dog training. Desired applicants should have some of the following:

-Some relevant industry experience. (As a handler at a Day Care, a goomer, Shelter volunteer/employee)
-College or Agricultural School.
-Drive and desire to learn and seek knowledge themselves.
-An understanding of the commitment required in this field.

Our splits are aggressive for the industry for trainers, once ready to be on your own.

Job Overview:

As a Trainers apprentice, you will be expected to wrk evenings and weekends. We provide training and care all day for our board and trains as well as our drop in clients. You will be expected to work along side all of our traininers, and learn from their skills. This is an opportunity to work with a variety of dog breeds and help them develop good manners and obedience.

You will learn how to:
- Conduct individual and group training sessions for dogs of all ages and breeds
- Assess dogs' behavior and develop customized training plans to address specific needs
- Teach basic obedience commands such as sit, stay, come, and heel
- Assist with behavior modification techniques to address issues such as aggression, anxiety, or fear
- Educate dog owners on positive reinforcement and balanced training methods and provide guidance on effective communication with their pets
- Monitor dogs' progress during training sessions and adjust techniques as needed
- Maintain accurate records of each dog's training history and progress
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs during training sessions
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and behavior modification methods
