WHAT WE NEED

The Plant Manager provides strategic and tactical leadership to our manufacturing facility, responsible for building and continuously developing an organization that is capable of and excited to deliver exceptional and continuously improving results. He or she will be the primary contact for all site-level KPIs across a balanced scorecard, including People, Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and CapEx. The Plant Manager will demonstrate strong leadership while overseeing operations of a crucial location by implementing efficient production and quality, while fostering a safe and energetic workplace culture.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • First and foremost, the Plant Manager is the senior leader of the site. Their primary focus should always be on developing their team to be capable of, accountable for, and excited to solve problems at the organizational level closest to the problem.  
  • As the Plant Manager, this role will provide leadership for all aspects of plant operations including production efficiency, product quality, regulatory compliance, local supply chain effectiveness, cost control, workplace EH&S, community and employee relations and human capital development. 
  • Align manufacturing priorities with the goals and objectives of the company.  Bridge communication gaps by engaging the cross functional leadership team as needed to improve performance. 
  • Design and communicate a manufacturing business plan; establish, communicate, and implement long-term goals for the site to promote effectiveness and efficiency. 
  • Develop a team structure that promotes alignment and support among cross-functional team members.  Create an environment that can flex to meet the demands of the business; supports the retention and development of the team members to deliver a higher level of services and performance.  
  • Drive through the organization a culture of continuous learning. 
  • Develop a cascading culture of root cause analysis and corrective actions to safety, quality, and production related issues. 
  • Through direct reports and frontline leadership, ensure organizational compliance with all GMP’s and regulatory requirements to maintain a Food Safe operation. 
  • Support implementation of centrally-defined safety and quality initiatives.  
  • In partnership with Engineering team, develop and manage site-level capital plans and lead justification for expenditures.  This includes sustaining projects, projects to improve current operational efficiencies, and investments to support future business requirements. 
  • Champion safe work practices while influencing plant wide safety performance.  Focus staff on safety in all aspects of operations.  Resolve safety problems at a root cause level, support and / or lead safety training and related safety requirements for facilities.  
  • Ensure self and staff keep up-to-date on technical knowledge and developments that impact roles.  Uses this information to drive improvements and/or prepare for changing requirements 
  • Engage with employees at all levels of the organization, providing improved communication, understanding and breeding an environment that embraces change and open communication. 
  • Build the capability of direct reports daily to ensure continuous improvement. 
  • Support training and education of all functional roles throughout production organization. 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or business strongly preferred. 
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience in a similar industry (e.g., food/beverage, consumer goods/chemicals). 
  • 10+ years of direct people management in operations 
  • Proven experience effectively operating across a wide variety of functions, both co-located and remote. 
  • Experience in high-speed manufacturing environment, specifically modeling best in class change management processes. 

At BRF, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $170,000.00 and $180,000.00 annually. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
