(This is a part-time hybrid career opportunity with required on-site responsibilities.)

We have been engaged in a search for a Communications / Writing Assistant (part-time) who will work with a team of digital, graphic and marketing professionals to promote a well-known brand.

In this role, the Digital Media Assistant will:

  • Localize press releases and schedule distribution for digital media press release list.
  • Maintain “News” page on the corporate website and update press release announcements.
  • Develop and send “event” notification emails to internal staff.
  • Coordinate show program book inserts.
  • Act as a communication liaison between national tour representatives and internal graphic designer.
  • Submit events to local calendar websites, including scheduling and monitoring Facebook events. Check calendar listings for accuracy of all events.
  • Maintain and update an archive of press coverage (keeping track of links and PDFs/hard copies of stories).
  • Coordinate photo and video policies for national tours and events.
  • Assemble press kits for opening nights and in-person press opportunities.

The appropriate individual will have demonstrated experience in the following:

  • An educational and/or professional background in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Public Relations or Communications.
  • One to two years of professional background in corporate, agency, PR or related media writing.
  • Press releases and or print announcements to media and other entities.
  • Social media visibility and engagement in a corporate, agency or similar professional context.
  • Adobe Suite that includes Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat. (Preferred).
  • Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Confident proofreader; able to pay attention to the fine details.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communications skills in a small team environment.
  • Ability to communicate and work positively in a small team environment.
  • Enjoys organizing and planning.
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple tasks and reliably meet deadlines.
