In this mechanical engineering role, you will report directly to the Corporate Director of Engineering and have responsibility for designing, developing, and improving water solutions equipment.

For more than 100 years, our client has built a reputation for engineering innovation that now includes energy generating and recovery features and preventative maintenance software to increase machine uptime
Based in suburban Chicago with 2 manufacturing facilities to serve customers for custom and standard equipment manufacturing needs

Position Overview

In a multi-disciplinary team-oriented environment, design, develop, and improve water solutions and related capital equipment
Perform engineering calculations, stress analysis, and engineering simulations to ensure integrity and safety of equipment designs
On an ongoing basis, enhance performance, reliability, and efficiency of existing equipment
Ensure that equipment designs comply with industry standards and regulations
Collaborate with electrical engineers, programmers, sales, and production team members to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into equipment
Identify opportunities to reduce costs through design changes and sourcing strategies without compromising safety or quality

Candidate Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
More than 3 years mechanical engineering experience, preferably in an industrial equipment manufacturing setting
Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience using ERP systems to enter part numbers and create Bills of Materials

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without restrictions.
