PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL

Requirements:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Receivable 60%

  • Coordinates and owns all aspects of account receivable and contributions receivable including client/customer maintenance, A/R data entry, proper codification, invoicing, and billing, posting payments and receipts, A/R aging, collections, and general customer support.
  • Oversees all customer invoicing and revenue recognition including but not limited to timely and accurate coding of all cash receipts from grants, pledges, and donations.
  • Oversees all credit card merchant service relationships and timely coding/posting of all incoming payments made via credit card.
  • Collaborates with the Development team to reconcile the accounting system to the donor database (Salesforce) monthly for all revenue streams.
  • Maintains supporting schedules and prepares monthly journal entries as needed, including calculation, and tracking of deferred revenue.
  • Communicates directly with other departments when necessary.
  • Utilize software tools/automation to integrate, automate and streamline key A/R functions and processes. Support the team through new accounting system implementation.

Grant Management 40%

  • Support the development team in preparing budgets as part of the grant proposal process. Once awarded, manage grant agreements, related documents and all terms/deadlines associated with the grant.
  • Report on grant spending, compile financial aspect of all required grant reporting as needed.
  • Prepare grant invoices and remit to funders in a timely manner based on fully executed grant agreements/terms.
  • Collaborate with Director of Institutional Giving to understand grant requirements, deadlines, and reporting requirements.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting/bookkeeping, non-profit experience preferred.
  • Sound understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Strong MS Excel, written and verbal communication skills.
  • BA/BS degree, preferably in related field.
  • Ability to work effectively with all 10,000 Degrees constituencies and staff, including directly communicating with other departments when needed.
  • Impeccable judgment and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and time management skills. Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities consistently and accurately.
  • Commitment to the mission and goals of 10,000 Degrees
  • This position requires some in-person presence and/or travel within the regions served.
