Families in Recovery Program:

Liberation Programs' Families in Recovery (FIRP) is an inpatient program in Norwalk, CT for pregnant and parenting women with children. FIRP has been in existence since 1994 and is unique in our region. It is the only inpatient treatment program for pregnant and parenting women in Fairfield County. Mothers can have up to two children ages birth to 10 years old, and FIRP is the only inpatient program in Connecticut where mothers can bring two children up to the age of 10 into the program with them. FIRP is gender and trauma sensitive with an emphasis on individual and family needs. Throughout treatment, mothers are supported in managing challenges related to substance use disorder (SUD), building, enhancing and maintaining life skills, peer-to-peer support and accessing resources to provide safe, nurturing homes for their children and themselves as they prepare to transition back to the community.


Job Purpose/Function: Driver is responsible for providing transportation services for recoverees in a safe, customer-friendly manner. Driver is also responsible for ensuring vehicle maintenance in accordance to regulatory standards.


DUTIES:

  • Transport recoverees and staff to and from various destinations in a safe and timely manner
  • Transport program and agency supplies including mail and documents between agency programs when directed by supervisor
  • Assure the maintenance and service of assigned vehicle is completed as expected
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards
  • Ensure vehicle is equipped with safety equipment
  • Inform maintenance and supervisory staff of potential safety issues or hazards
  • Be aware of universal precautions
  • Assists in creating a friendly, welcoming environment
  • Maintains a safe environment for employees, visitors and recoverees
  • Assume responsibility for all other activities as assigned by the Operations Manager


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • · High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • · Valid Drivers license
  • · Strong oral and presentation skills in order to properly represent the agency when in the community
