Summary

Computes, classifies, records, and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records. Serves as a receptionist on a regular basis by greeting visitors, welcoming and directing them appropriately and answering incoming telephone calls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proofread, approve and release sales orders to the shipping department.
  • Receives/receipts in daily A/R payments.
  • Assists with collection of past due accounts by contacting customers via telephone, fax or email.
  • Assists with credit card entry/processing.
  • Performs data entry.
  • Enters invoicing quantity into sales orders prior to posting.
  • Verifies accuracy of sales orders prior to posting.
  • Monitors various vendor relation sites and updates customer freight accounts as needed.
  • E-mails/faxes daily invoices.
  • Assists customers with questions on shipping, invoicing, etc. and prepares customer statements.
  • Assists with taking orders and order verification when needed.
  • Assists with sales order invoicing as needed.
  • Assists with posting/printing invoices, invoice verification and domestic invoicing when needed.
  • Prepares checks for deposit.
  • Compiles, sorts, and files documents, such as invoices and sales orders.
  • Assists with other miscellaneous tasks related to accounting, sales, or other departments as needed.

Qualifications

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
