The Role: CHIEF ENGINEER - RIVERVIEW INN & SUITES

Riverview Inn and Suites Rockford, part of the esteemed Choice Hotels brand. Riverview Inn and Suites on the River, a charming and guest-centric hotel located along the picturesque Rock River in Rockford, IL, is seeking a Chief Engineer that will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities. As the Chief Engineer, you will oversee all aspects of engineering and maintenance, working closely with the management team to uphold our standards of excellence and guest satisfaction.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the engineering and maintenance team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to preserve the condition of the property and its equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of the premises, identifying areas for improvement and addressing any issues promptly.
• Manage the repair and maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors to procure supplies, equipment, and services necessary for operations.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, prioritizing the well-being of guests and staff.
• Respond to emergency situations and service requests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Stay updated on technological advancements and industry trends to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Who You Are:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, with a strong background in facilities management.
• Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairs.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and safety protocols.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
