JOB TITLE: Logistics Manager

REPORTS TO: Purchasing Manager

FLSA STATUS: Exempt, Salary

POSITION VALUE STATEMENT: The Logistics Manager plays a critical role within The Broaster Company ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services to support the operations. This team member will provide strategic direction to achieve cost effective, accurate, and timely movement of goods for the Broaster Company.

KEY ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCCES:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate the flow of goods into and out of the facility
  • Relationship management of carriers and lanes for optimal cost and performance
  • Liaison with customers and customer service for freight quotes and shipment coordination
  • Ensure timely movement of goods including direct from supplier and returns
  • Responsible for maintaining freight class and HTS classifications
  • Develop and execute operational plans to achieve strategic objectives

Lead and mentor personnel associated with logistics function to:
  • Direct, coach, and train warehouse workforce
  • Responsible for accuracy of order fulfillment
  • Drive continuous improvement
  • Organize and optimize space for Finished Goods and staging of products.

Manage the coordination of International Shipments
  • Coordinating proper documentation with freight forwarders
  • Liaison between customer and organization for timely movement of goods
  • Schedule international parcel shipments
  • Comply with laws and regulations

Additional Responsibilities

  • A leader in the Broaster Management team
  • Policies and procedures documentation and adherence
  • Subject matter expert in logistics software and associated functions in the ERP system
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Logistics or Supply Chain or more than 5 years experience in food and/or equipment Logistics
  • Experience with computerized ERP System (Sage x3 preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office(Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point)
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
