Job DescriptionJob DescriptionBarton and Gray Mariners Club has revolutionized yachting with a fleet of 80+ Hinckley and custom vessels serving a private membership in harbors along the East Coast and Great Lakes. Our growing service team based in Connecticut is seeking an experienced Marine Carpenter to join our North Stonington location.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and recommend appropriate repairs for issues like leaks, warps, and squeaks
- Cut, assemble, and install various boat parts, including doors, paneling, rails, and trim
- Ability to fabricate custom & install prefabricated boat parts, including hardware and seating
- Ability to meet project timelines and budget requirements
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe work area
- Answer incoming service calls
- Manage expense tracking for all Parts/Materials purchases made on Corporate credit card
- Maintain a good working relationship with Captains and other support staff
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of Marine carpentry experience preferred
- Organized and self motivated
- Ability to work independently
- Proficient in basic math and fractions for measurements and calculations
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to get on and off boats both in the water and on land
