DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

The Finance Clerk will play a crucial role in supporting the Financial Controller with the management of company accounts payable and accounts receivable.  This position will receive, process, and prepare vendor payments and lien waivers, post and reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger and balance vendor accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.


Key responsibilities would include, but are not specifically limited to:

  • Code daily invoices, matching with backup, and entering in accounting software for payment processing
  • Route invoices for approval and track return
  • Interface accounts payable distribution to the GL
  • Vendor maintenance (W-9, Contract Agreements, Sales Tax Exemption Certificates)
  • Prepare annual 1099’s
  • Process employee expense reports for payment
  • Process checks for vendors, outside contractors and employee payments
  • Process and track lien waivers in accounting software
  • Work closely with other team members, subcontractors and suppliers to manage and resolve financial issues
  • Support and maintain a healthy, happy work environment and company culture


SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance. A suitable combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and experience with financial software. QuickBooks or Sage Accounting preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical standards
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Compensation:  Salary will be commensurate with skills, education, and experience.
