We are continuing to grow, and are looking for a Production Analyst.

We are looking for a Production Analyst to help us review and control our manufacturing operation in Apex, NC. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing and reporting performance, including direct and indirect expenses, to ensure planned performance and to find ways to make the manufacturing operations more efficient.

You’ll be the go-to person for cost calculations, cost analysis, operational performance and you’ll prepare reports to help the team make better decisions. To do this job well, we’d like you to be well-versed in data and financial analysis, ERP system experience, have strong attention to detail, having this experience within discrete product manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities of the Cost Analyst include:

  • Periodically (monthly) review and financially close production work orders to ensure actual costs aligned with budgets and planned costs. Review variances and observations with production management.
  • Periodically (monthly) review purchased costs and compare planned costs, highlighting exceptions, and considering the associated impacts and opportunities. Review and report variances with impact and opportunity analysis.
  • Responsible for reports documenting production results. Examples include On-Time Delivery, Quality summaries, Repair performance and other established performance to goals.
  • Provide concise information for daily stand-up meetings.
  • Calculate standard costs for new and revised products and report to pricing teams.
  • Estimate production costs and track the changes in regular costs (e.g. due to new products and new processes.
  • Run periodic inventory valuation reports, track performance to business targets and report.
  • Prepare detailed reports, both periodically and ad-hoc comparing budgets with actual expenses
  • Support related activities, including overhead analysis, standard costing, inventory valuations and similar cost related activities for the company’s ERP system.
  • Develop plans to efficiently use Production staff and equipment to produce the maximum revenue. Support staffing requirements analysis based on planned work and historical data. Monitor transactions of inventory and recommend safety stocks, order points and similar tools to ensure that the material is in house to support operational performance goals.
  • Support and/or lead product certification activities including annual and periodic USMCA certification requests.
  • Conduct market research to support future business planning to forecast and analyze costs of processes, labor, and inventory. Evaluate current operational strategies and recommend improvements
  • Coordinate and support resolutions to operational issues and proactively recommend improvement initiatives.

Qualifications of the Cost Analyst include:

  • Proven experience as a cost analyst, cost specialist or similar role in manufacturing operations using enterprise ERP systems
  • Experience in data, operational and financial analysis, knowledge of accounting processes and software
  • Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or similar field
  • Model effective communication, leadership and partnership with the production team
