Electrical Superintendent

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOmega Contractor's LLC Job Description:  Omega Contractor's is currently looking for a Electrical Superintendent. Pay based on experience-certifications, licenses and endorsements 

Qualifications:

• Job related electrical systems technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Open shop self perform experience
• Experience in the Automation Industry
• 5 or more years of experience in Refining maintenance or engineering
• Responsible for ensuring round the clock efficient operations for electrical area
• Manages the resources and activities for the electrical area or process assigned.

Knowledge :

• Knowledge of secondary electrical systems including planning additions or modifications on secondary circuits.
• Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test 1000 volt and below electrical circuits, equipment and appliances.
• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
• Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers for secondary systems 1000 volt and below.
• Ability to lead and train staff and/or students.
• Ability to read commercial electrical blueprints and apply NEC through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance and construction work.
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
• Ability to install and maintain motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers as appropriate to the position.
• Ability to isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Produce various reports.
• Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions as needed
• Coordinates work and interfaces effectively with other craft superintendents and subcontractors, staff personnel and leadership to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence
• Advises senior level supervision and project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, and other potential issues
• Directing the electrical site team with the leadership and assistance of the greater Construction team
• Ensuring safety and health compliance in regards to electrical aspects
• Undertake inspection, fault finding and root cause analysis of failures and making recommendations to rectify
• Provide electrical technical expertise
• Maintaining a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices so as to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
