Position: Aerospace Inspector

In search of a seasoned Aerospace Inspector dedicated to upholding the highest standards of quality, precision, and accuracy in our operations. The selected candidate will play a vital role in scrutinizing and ensuring the compliance of machined parts and electromechanical assemblies with relevant specifications and standards.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Utilize precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, profilometers, and other instruments to inspect and measure machined parts and components.
  • Interpret technical documents like blueprints, drawings, maintenance manuals, and specifications to verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish requirements.
  • Conduct visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) to identify surface defects or flaws that could impact part integrity or functionality.
  • Document any deviations or non-conformities in the manufacturing process and collaborate with the production team to implement corrective measures.
  • Maintain meticulous inspection records and documentation for all inspected parts and components.
  • Ensure adherence to quality control procedures and standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the quality control team to enhance the quality and reliability of machined parts and components continuously.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Aerospace repair station or Machine Shop as an Inspector or in a similar role.
  • Thorough knowledge of aerospace materials, machining processes, and quality control standards.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and the use of precision measurement tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the production team and other departments.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make decisions based on technical specifications and data.
  • Strong attention to detail and adept problem-solving skills.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, Etc.:

  • Familiarity or experience with Calypso programming.
  • Proficient in operating CMMs and other inspection equipment.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, and other aerospace quality standards.
  • Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques and certification is advantageous.
