Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:

The Order Assembler I at Mate Precision Technologies will utilize a laser etching machine to etch parts and will package and label parts according to customer specifications, count, sort, and examine products while verifying conformance to specifications, and appropriately package and accurately ship orders to Mate customers utilizing appropriate shipping software.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Count and verify specifications and etching requirements for all products received into the department and organize accordingly.
  • Etch identifying codes, figures, and/or letters onto tools using a laser etcher and creating labels as required for all items that are not etched.
  • Manage and complete preventative maintenance for shipping equipment and machines, when necessary.
  • Move and/or transport materials and information throughout the department or other departments.
  • Mark internal order documentation to identify operator and processing moves.
  • Utilize code readers, computers, and software applications to complete various responsibilities within the department.
  • Conduct clerical work such as filling out shipping documents and inputting/retrieving information from various computer applications.
  • Utilize internal data and communication systems.
  • Assist with packaging products using the correct protective packaging in preparation for shipping.
  • Create and print packing slips and ensure all required documentation is included with each order according to customer requirements.
  • Assist with processing domestic and international shipments according to the proper method required (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborates with others, is open-minded, responsive, and supportive of others’ efforts to succeed.
  • Demonstrates integrity by being dependable, having good judgment, being honest, and taking responsibility for their actions.
  • Respectful of others, encouraging others to share their ideas, actively listening to others, and having common courtesy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-2 years of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret correspondence and instructions, both in writing and verbally, is required.
  • Basic computer knowledge/ability is required for entry of order numbers, recording of completed and defective part quantities, and other records, into the organization’s databases.
  • Ability to efficiently add and subtract whole numbers and decimals.
  • Perform accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with the ability to multi-task and pivot from different responsibilities in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
  • Use of hands and fingers.
  • Frequently lift, move, push, and pull up to 30 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift, move, push, and pull up to 60 pounds.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.


Pay, Work Schedule, & Benefits:

  • Pay Range: $23.38 - $25.47/hour, depending on experience.
  • Work Schedule: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM Monday-Thursday and 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM on Friday
