Fatherhood Specialist
Monroe County Department of Human Services, Engaging Fathers - Fathers and Young Men
Rochester, NY - On-Site
FULL-TIME Nonexempt : 40 hours/week

Coordinated Care Services Inc (CCSI) seeks a talented Fatherhood Specialist to contribute their expertise in providing essential business services to our provider organizations and customers. The Fatherhood Specialist will support the needs of fathers interfacing with the programs and services provided by the Monroe County Department of Human Services (DHS). It is a central support to an important new program intended to transform the way programs under the direction of Monroe County DHS and the broader provider community engage with fathers and young men to fully understand and meet their needs. The Fatherhood Specialist will, under the guidance of Program Director of Engaging Fathers, work closely with staff across Monroe County DHS to receive referrals for fathers and young men, assess their needs and make a connection to services and supports needed to meet those needs.


CCSI is partnering with Monroe County Department of Human Services to hire a Fatherhood Specialist. This position is employed by CCSI and working on behalf of Monroe County.


In this role, you will

  • Participate, when requested, on initial intakes/contacts with referred families.
  • Identify needs and make appropriate connections to services and support
  • Work with fathers positively and productively and use strategies outside the parameters of standard service delivery
  • Provide weekly parent support to assigned participating fathers through home visits, outings, and/or telephone contact
  • Be responsive to calls from families who express concerns and/or complaints
  • Attend and participate in activities and in Service Plan Review and other case conference meetings or court appearances as requested by the families, Program Director of Engaging Fathers and/or County partners
  • Provide feedback/documentation regarding participation and individual contacts with fathers
  • Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Complete mandated training requirements
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or related field and 2 years of related experience or equivalent education and work experience (see CCSI's equivalency chart).
  • Experience and interest in working with fathers - lived experience as a father and/or user of the service delivery system preferred
  • Knowledge about the Department of Human Services, Child and Family Services, Community Providers as well as familiarity and comfort with the communities and neighborhoods in the Greater Rochester area
  • Bi-lingual candidates highly desirable

Additional Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of all required background screenings.
  • Must possess a valid class D New York State Driver's license and have access to reliable transportation
  • Ability to provide transportation to clients utilizing your own vehicle to activities as indicated within the service plan
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Respect the confidential nature of all CCSI and CCSI customer information you are exposed to in the course of your work performance. Staff working directly with protected health information /electronically stored protected health information, personally identifiable information, and other patient/consumer/customer data, will abide by the specific procedures and policies outlined by CCSI’s Code of Conduct and CCSI’s Privacy and Security Policies, New York State regulations and Federal regulations.
