Status: Full Time
Schedule: Days
Hourly Rate: Experience based pay starting at $23/hr

What will I do in this role with Garden Spot?
- Performs general maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment.
- Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed; sets up folding tables and chairs.
- Performs routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment (such as changing filters, equipment lubrication, and belt replacement.)
- Replaces light bulbs, conducts light bulb surveys and restocks light bulb carts as necessary.
- Hangs pictures, blinds, curtains, shelves, directional and room signs.
- Conducts Skilled Nursing bed checks, door latching and roam alert door checks.
- Replaces weather stripping on windows and doors; replaces door latches and kick down door stoppers.
- Unclogs gutters, and installs gutter guards.
- Assists residents when unintentionally locked out of their residences
- Provides basic security by locking unlocked doors.
- Cuts door keys when applicable.
- Repairs/replaces damaged door and window screening.
- Adjusts thermostat settings and responds to HVAC problems.
- Replaces batteries in keyless entry devices.
- Cleans dryer exhaust vent lines.
- Conducts preventive maintenance service visits.
- Responds to fire alarm activations; participates in fire drills.
- Responds to safety/security incidents.
- Conducts interior and exterior safety/security rounds.
- Responds to severe weather situations; participates in the annual severe weather drill.
- Responds by escorting and assisting Skilled Nursing staff on independent living resident emergency calls.
- Assists with conducting annual fire alarm system equipment inspection and testing, including the testing of fire extinguishers.
- Participates in the annual resident elopement drill.
- Assists with UPS/Fed Ex package delivery.
- Unloads and stores various facility deliveries.
- Assist with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, drywall and carpentry projects.
- Takes temperature and pressure readings on HVAC equipment and domestic hot water and record subsequently records results.
- Attends in-service training programs for maintenance team members.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What do I need for this role with Garden Spot?
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Work experience and/or technical training in building-related maintenance work preferred.
- At least one year of experience or knowledge in plant operation and maintenance work.
- Proficient in drywall repair and light carpentry.
- Shows initiative in departmental responsibilities and follows through on requests and tasks.
- Skill in the care and use of tools and equipment used.
- Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
- Must be willing to train and participate in ongoing staff development programs
- An understanding of and willingness to live out our mission and values, providing compassionate person-centered care to all residents.
