Summary:

The Neurofeedback Technician helps facilitate Neurofeedback sessions as a result of understanding the science and purpose behind neurofeedback and being able to reiterate this information to others. The technician will assist the coordinator by maintaining client records through methods such as documenting client assessments, preparing progress notes and reports in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures to meet regulatory requirements, documenting for future reference and ensuring that access to and disclose of information and records are in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act.


Responsibilities:

  • Develops and coordinates individual sessions including necessary preparation, prioritizing, scheduling, and arranging for other resources as needed.
  • Conducts Neurofeedback Assessments.
  • EEG set up.
  • EEG maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Client monitoring during session.
  • Maintains knowledge of mental wellness support through methods such as reviewing literature and research, consulting with clinical supervision, evaluating clinical practices and participating in professional development activities to improve care through new practices.

Education/Experience/Training:

  • Minimum of (3) years of relevant experience and/or equivalent experience and training.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Associate or Provisional License required.
  • Bachelor's Degree

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of laws, state and federal healthcare compliance, regulatory and HIPAA privacy matters and other standards applicable to healthcare organization.
  • Excellent knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Section 164.508(b)(3)(ii).
  • Understands the compliance and ethics profession, theories, and standards.
  • Chart Auditing Skills is a plus
