Days Per Week: 3
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night)
13-week assignment with every other weekend and holidays as needed.
No On-Call Requirement
Float Requirement: As needed per hospital/unit needs.
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Oncology is responsible for providing specialized care to adult patients, particularly those with leukemia and lymphoma, in an acute inpatient setting. The RN will assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and perform therapeutic nursing interventions. This role requires a strong background in oncology nursing, with a focus on delivering patient-centric care and supporting evidence-based practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and document nursing care tailored to the needs of oncology patients.
- Assess patient needs, prioritize care, and adjust care plans based on ongoing evaluations.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage the overall care of oncology patients.
- Document care according to standards of practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
- Advocate for and support the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
- Provide patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice models.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute adult oncology, specializing in leukemia and lymphoma, in an inpatient setting.
Educational Requirements:
- Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Certifications & Licensure:
Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA.
- New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
Preferred:
- Telemetry Certification.
- Chemo Certification with Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).
Language Requirements: Proficiency in English (speak, read, write).
