An experienced Project Manager is sought by an established, high-end residential general contractor in La Jolla, CA, requiring multitasking abilities in a dynamic environment with a focus on residential clients. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong communication, leadership, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills while fostering a positive team environment. Technical construction skills in high-end residential projects and effective construction management are essential. Interaction with clients, design teams, and project engineers demands professionalism, effectiveness, and respect for client privacy. Similarly, a construction company seeks an experienced project manager to oversee project plans and ensure high-quality work, efficiency, and adherence to budget. The role demands strong leadership, problem-solving, delegation, and communication skills to successfully manage projects from start to finish. Do you meet these?

Compensation:

$90,000

Responsibilities:
  • Put organizational systems into place to ensure tools, vehicles, and equipment are well-maintained, and schedule maintenance if needed
  • Oversee the work of all general contractors and their laborers and guide as necessary to ensure high-quality work
  • Prevent injuries, slowdowns, and project risks by demanding complete adherence to health and safety standards on construction sites, and reporting safety regulation issues promptly
  • Forecast monetary needs for the project and accurately manage the budget
  • Determine the project deliverables and specifications, including the project scope, necessary project resources, and estimated labor needed by collaborating with clients, engineers, and architects
  • Manage the construction of the project in all phases
  • Oversee project administration including change orders, RFIs, submittals, construction documents, permits, and inspections
  • Manage the estimating process and oversee budgeting
  • Conduct site meetings
  • Create and manage project schedules, including managing subcontractors and vendors to ensure adherence to the project schedule
  • Implement quality control measures
  • Oversee and maintain a clean and organized building site, site office, and efficient document management
  • Monitor the work of others to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory codes, as well as company standards
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety protocols
  • Lead by example, coach, and motivate team members
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration
  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence and maintain a good temperament
Qualifications:
  • Construction or project management software experience is a significant plus
  • Four-year college degree in engineering, construction management, or other similar fields
  • Finished training for OSHA 30 license
  • One year of previous experience as a construction project manager required
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and the entire building process, including building permits, blueprints, building codes, construction equipment, material resources, construction methods, and project management principles

  • Strong understanding of construction documents and ability to read plans
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite (Required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (Required)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Projects or similar software (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of construction software (Preferred)
  • Proficiency in Slack and other chat apps (Preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication, computer, and decision-making skills (Required)
