Carolina Comfort Air, a recognized national top volume dealer for Trane installing HVAC systems in over 3,500 homes a year from the triangle to the coast, is looking for a Purchasing Agent to join our team. An employee in this class performs the full range of duties associated with the company’s procurement needs, including identifying, sourcing, and ordering as requires items for all company departments and locations. Normal supervision is given to this employee
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Primary Responsibilities and Expectations:•Sources and orders all materials as needed.•Efficiently and effectively prioritizes and completes all incoming requests for material, information, and updates from multiple CCA departments and locations daily. •Creates and sends PO’s in accordance with company procedure. •Maintains purchase order status as well as shipment tracking information and updates all necessary individuals.•Communicates effectively with vendors and other CCA employees as needed to address procurement issues.•Resolves issues relating to product identification and availability with vendors. •Works diligently to identify the most cost-effective purchasing options.•Ensures that all required items will be at the proper location by the required deadline, or that all impacted parties are aware of any issues beforehand. •Verifies all specs and material data as required to ensure the proper material is sourced. •Aides in completion of CCA end of month inventory process by completing valuations of materials on hand, departmental transfers, and Retail Dept. job costing.•Maintains current product description and pricing in QuickBooks, ordering forms, and inventory spreadsheets as needed.•Assists in routine office activities and special projects as required. •Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.•Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.•Accomplishes Carolina Comfort Air’s stated mission by completing required tasks as needed.
QualificationsEducation:Minimum of a High School diploma.Experience:No previous professional experience in purchasing or HVAC-related or industrial environment is required; however, it is beneficial. Demonstrable intermediate proficiency with computer based systems is required.Skills:•Excellent math abilities, basic spreadsheet and word-processing knowledge. •Good verbal and written communication skills. •Strong competence with office equipment, such as fax machines, copiers and printers.•Reliability, accountability, a sense of urgency and a positive attitude required•Ability to work a standard shift with the possibility of also working non-standard hours when required.
