Robotics Advisor

Position Summary: The Robotics Coach works with students to develop their problem-solving skills. This will be done through practices/meetings with participants. After school hours; specific hours /days to be determined. Hours may vary based on program needs.

Reports To: Activities Director, Building Principals

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to forward think and identify problems or issues and develop solutions to resolve issues
• Ability to work with students in groups and in individual settings
• Demonstrate organizational and communication skills
• Proven experience in teaching and modeling character and responsible behavior
• Positive, high energy, and committed
• Firm understanding of, and proven support for, education-based interscholastic activities/athletics
• View success not just as winning, but as helping teams and its members reach defined goals
• Experience in computer programming and a firm understanding of technology preferred

Essential Duties:

• Provide leadership that promotes personal growth, confidence, and in a manner that is equitable for all participants
• Responsible for the development of the training components for the activity which will focus on a positive experience for all participants
• Monitor the work of all members to ensure their safety
• Develop communication procedures with parents, faculty, administration, and the public to share information regarding meeting times, projects and accomplishments of individuals and the group as appropriate
• Set the group's meeting schedule; will also work individually with students throughout the week (this may include meeting before, during and after the school day)
• Work with the Activities Assistant to schedule transportation and room(s) as needed
• Set the competition season schedule and submit that schedule to the Activities Office
• Submit competition results to the Activities Director after each competition
• Other duties as assigned
