  • We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) for a contract position.
  • The ideal candidate has great communication skills, can remove roadblocks, detail oriented, and has a knack for breaking websites.
  • QAE's regularly work with Developers, Product Managers and other Quality Engineers to ensure the proper operation of the production environment.
  • During the development cycle, QAEs identify use cases, create test cases, execute tests, and report results.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience 2-4 years industry experience testing software, including website applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Experience in running the manual regression test pass and able to update the tests for the minor changes.
  • Experience in bug filing and bug resolution.
  • Running any existing automation tests is a plus.
  • Experience with QA process and Software Development Life Cycle.

Typical Day in the Role
  • Daily syncs with HM as well as hands on depending on need. If your day is clear it will just be daily sync ups and a few messages at EOD, BUT HM is willing to be hands on if needed.

Candidate Requirements
  • Leadership principle: deliver results, insist on high standards, customer obsession
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience 2-4 years industry experience testing software, including website applications.
  • Experience in testing customer facing applications (fire tv, apple tv, etc) would be very helpful to have in QAT II. It helps make transition onto team easier.
  • Also looking to have very hands on knowledge on QA processes:
Can the candidates file issues? can they file issues in the correct format? Can they trace the box of resolution to take up ownership and get things are ready for testing? Can they understand what is the sign off/checklist or criteria? Can they identify the gaps or understanding test case and how they can execute? Also, try to set up the test environment and try to unblock themselves. Top 3 must-have hard skills
  • Able to run test cases without running into issues
  • able to find bugs/ resolve bugs
  • Able to follow a release checklists/identify task
