Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physical Trainer. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of functional training techniques. This person must be able to instruct clients on basic exercise physiology and inform them of proper lifting and exercise techniques. Physical Trainer will also deliver compelling, science-based knowledge to their clients about the impact of strength training and pliability on muscle health and recovery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide great customer service and create a welcoming experience for clients
  • Motivate and support clients to help them stay on track with their sense of self-efficacy and capability.
  • Respond in a friendly, patient, and responsive manner when dealing with client and supervisor requests
  • Track clients' progress and make adjustments to their workout programs as needed.
  • Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations governing sports, recreational activities, and the use of exercise equipment.
  • Plan routines, choose appropriate music, and choose different movements for each set of muscles, depending on participants' capabilities and limitations.
  • Teach proper breathing techniques used during physical exertion.
  • Educate clients on correct form and alternative moves during a fitness routine
  • Give full attention to what the client is saying, take time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate, and do not interrupt at inappropriate times.
  • Conduct comprehensive initial assessments to evaluate the client's current health status, goals, and movement patterns.
  • Utilize a variety of training modalities, including strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility exercises, and balance/coordination drills.
  • Monitor clients’ behavior and report any changes or concerns to the treatment team.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, physical therapists, counselors, and other health care providers, to ensure coordinated care.
  • Cleans and organizes space after each group fitness class
  • Performs related work as required.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Required License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Certified Personal Trainer or in a related field, such as Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, or Sports Medicine
  • CPR/AED Certification

Education/Experience/Qualification:

  • High School or GED diploma required. Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal training
  • Must be energetic, enthusiastic and motivational
  • Ability to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of a class
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client services. This includes client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
  • Proven experience as a Health Coach or similar role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on clear instruction and motivation.
  • Ability to exert yourself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath.
  • Experience with specific populations, such as athletes, older adults, or individuals with chronic conditions.

Proficiency in using exercise equipment and technology, including resistance bands, stability balls, and digital fitness tracking tools.
