Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummary / Objective:

This role requires a diverse set of skills, including effective communication, basic computer proficiency, mechanical inspection experience, and CMM exposure. The candidate will perform receiving inspection, in-process and final product inspections, and complete inspection reports. This involves both physical dimensional checking and paperwork/certification reviews from suppliers and vendors.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Collaborate closely with the Production Manager to meet quality and production targets.
  • Address quality issues and respond to customer corrective action requests.
  • Participate in customer source inspection of parts as needed.
  • Conduct daily mechanical parts inspections using surface plates and CMM tools, including in-process, first article, and final physical inspections.
  • Utilize inspection hand tools (mics, indicators, height gages, optical comparators, etc.).
  • Operate CMM equipment; experience with PC-DMIS is preferred.
  • Interpret GD&T ANSI Y14.5 engineering drawings.
  • Verify material and processing certifications for compliance with Aerospace standards.
  • Dimensionally inspect precision machined parts and raw metals.
  • Maintain logs, scan paperwork, and manage online files and emails.
  • Support Operations Manager and Quality Manager or Supervisor as required.
Skills Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on mechanical inspection experience, or equivalent machine shop experience.
  • Proficiency with inspection hand tools (mics, indicators, height gages, thread gages, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T ANSI Y14.5 engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of shop math and trigonometry.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, MS Word, Excel, and scanning.
  • US Citizenship or equivalent, in compliance with US Government contracts.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with suppliers and customers.
  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and cognitive ability to perform tasks with minimal errors.
  • Familiarity with machine shop processes or machining aircraft-grade metals.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit at a desk and use computer equipment for extended periods (up to 10 hours).
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical examination.
Work Authorization / Security Clearance:
  • U.S. Citizen or equivalent, compliant with ITAR regulations.
