Job Type: Full-time non-exempt / On Site Leominster, MA

Work Schedule: Day Shift – Monday to Friday

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional vocational or technical training in carpentry and machining is preferred.

Job Summary:

The machinist is responsible for operating a variety of machines to perform assigned tasks. You will process or repair precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements. The machinist needs to possess manual dexterity and an eye for detail. They must also have knowledge of mathematics and mechanics as well as respect for safety precautions. The goal is to ensure effective production operations and optimize procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Proven experience as machinist
  • Experience in using and/or programming machines (e.g. Computerized cutting machine, waterjet)
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow job tags, work instructions and blueprints/schematics
  • Must have a working knowledge of machine setups for customized parts (e.g. general securing of parts, location datum offsets, tool height offsets)
  • Ability to perform quality checks using precision tools (e.g. Vernier calipers, pie tap, measuring rule) to take/record accurate measurements
  • Ability to make necessary adjustments to hold dimensions and tolerances.
  • Ability to adjust machines speeds and feed as needed
  • Ability to operate machines in a safe manner to meet production requirements.
  • Maintain machine with regular maintenance - including cleaning, greasing and fluid levels. Report any issues to team leader or supervisor
Requirements:

Qualification and Skills/Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Basic mechanical skills using hand tools, power tools, hand trucks and pallet jacks
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Carpentry Experience Preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions, bending, stooping
