ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Hydrovac operator drives and operates the trucks on many different types of locations or sites. Operator will have to navigate off-road for pipeline project, and very tight spaces on rig or completion sites. All duties of the Operator are to be performed to maximize the safety of all personnel at the work site and to ensure the most efficient operation possible.


Responsibilities include:

• Drives the Hydrovac to the customer’s location(s) to perform potholing, trenching, locating and or cleaning collecting the material.

• Awareness of all safety requirements and training for each customer.

• Monitors the amount of material loaded into hydro truck, and only carries what is lawfully allowed to haul, and other situations presented by the site or the customer.

• Drives the truck to and from the dig site, rig site, completion site or customer’s dump site(s) or back to the yard location.

• While truck is working operator must monitor truck and work environment.

• Maintains accurate work tickets based on the requirements and the work performed for the customer(s).

• Maintains accurate driving logbooks, performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and ensures accuracy of the maintenance on the vehicle.

• Alerts supervisor when mechanical defects are noted on the truck as well as alerts supervisor when work hours may exceed the DOT maximums.

• Completes required work plans, job safety analysis, observations, and attend safety meetings as required.

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on Hydrovac such as grease and blowout air filters

• Uses hand tools and other equipment associated with the vehicle.

• Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by immediate supervisor.

• Other duties, as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

• 1 Year of driving experience required. 3 Years of driving experience preferred.

• Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement required.

• Must have a clean driving record.

• Must be skilled in operation of heavy equipment, Hydrovac Truck experience preferred.

• Must pass all drug screenings including randoms.

WORK/ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (WITH OR WITHOUT AN ACCOMMODATION)

• Shop, Field, and Office environment, using computer, telephone, other office equipment as needed to perform duties, frequent interruptions throughout day likely.

• Essential: continuous sitting, standing, wrist turning, grasping, pinching, and finger manipulation, frequent turning and twisting, and occasional reaching.

• Weather elements can be extreme cold, heat and wind.

• Occasionally required to lift or carry up to 50 - 75 lbs. push/pull occasionally required for up to 50 - 75 lbs.

• Hearing and vision (both correctable) are essential.
