SUMMARY:

Represents Goodwill at the point of donations and is responsible for greeting and assisting donors; unloading, pre-sorting, and transferring donated goods to the sorting areas to be processed. The Donor Greeter will also transport merchandise to the sales floor, stock shelves, rotate and display merchandise as needed. Provides customer service and offers tax receipts. The Donor Greeter must provide support services by collaborating with individuals with disabilities or disadvantages.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Greets, thanks, and assist donors with donations.
  2. Maintains high level of customer service meeting donors at their vehicle and assist in unloading merchandise. Offer tax receipt to every donor.
  3. Transfers merchandise to donation center.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Greets donors within 10 seconds in a courteous manner; assist in unloading donations from vehicles, offers tax receipts, and maintains accurate daily donor counts. Greets every Donor with “Good Morning (Afternoon)” and thanks the individual for their donation following the Donor Greeter Attendant SOP’s.
  2. Keeps the area observed by donors neat, clean, and well organized according to Kaizen procedures to ensure donors perceive that Goodwill values their donation and that we treat them with care.
  3. Hard goods pre-sorting using the established procedures (Kaizen); and places items into the designated material handling equipment.
  4. Place all textiles into the designated material handling equipment.
  5. Transfer material handling equipment full to the area to be sorted, graded, and hung.
  6. Always maintain the breakdown area in a neat and clean condition, to include trash handling as directed. Must maintain Kaizen parameters.
  7. Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
  8. Maintains acceptable attendance, personal hygiene, and dress code standards including wearing company issued name badges.
  9. Works closely with store management and other associates to ensure donations reach the sales floor in a timely manner.
  10. Keeps inside and outside of donation center organized and clean.
  11. Cleans up all work areas at the end of each shift.
  12. Follows all company and department policies and procedures.
  13. Demonstrates excellent work habits for employees and program participants, maintaining a respectful attitude towards the operation of the entire facility, team members, and is a positive role model for individuals receiving rehabilitation services.
  14. Ensure all safety rules are adhered to and the general upkeep of your area meets the standards of Goodwill Industries of El Paso, Inc. Reports accidents or injuries immediately.
  15. Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding Goodwill Industries of El Paso, Inc. and persons receiving services.
  16. Assists in other areas as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. No experience required.
  2. Ability to give good customer service and be friendly and polite.
  3. Ability to make quick decisions regarding merchandise quality.
  4. Ability to read, write and speak English (preferred) and have a basic math aptitude.

  2. Must be able to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends).

  2. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  3. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, customers, donors, and persons receiving services.
  4. Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
  5. Ability to provide support services by working with disabled/disadvantaged persons and assisting in the rehabilitation process of Goodwill Industries of El Paso, Inc.

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds and be able to stand for long periods at a time; bend, reach and stretch repeatedly during a shift.
  • Ability to stand, bend and reach above shoulders continually during a shift.
  • Capable of working significant portions of shifts outdoors throughout the year. The Environment contains dust and noise.
