Location: New York, NY
Duration: 12-Week Assignment

Shift:

Standard Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (includes a 45-minute break)
Preferred Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Days of Week: Monday - Friday

Dress Code:

Business Casual (Black Top)

Role Summary:

The Patient Registrar plays a key role in the administrative and clerical functions of the medical office environment. This position requires experience in healthcare administration, strong interpersonal skills, and familiarity with the EPIC electronic health record system. The Patient Registrar will be responsible for interacting with patients, managing their appointments, and ensuring accurate and efficient patient registration processes.

Key Responsibilities:1. Patient Registration:
  • Front Desk Operations: Greet patients and manage front desk operations, ensuring a positive and professional patient experience.
  • Data Entry: Accurately enter patient information into the EPIC electronic health record system.
  • Verification: Verify patient information including demographics, insurance details, and medical history.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments as needed.
2. Administrative Duties:
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner.
  • Insurance Processing: Collect and verify insurance information; process patient co-pays and provide necessary documentation for insurance claims.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to resolve issues and provide information.
3. Customer Service:
  • Patient Interaction: Address patient inquiries, concerns, and issues with empathy and professionalism.
  • Support Services: Provide assistance to patients with forms, information, and directions within the medical office.
4. Compliance and Confidentiality:
  • HIPAA Regulations: Ensure all patient interactions and records are handled in compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Policies and Procedures: Follow office policies and procedures for patient registration and administrative tasks.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Healthcare Experience: 12 months of administrative or clerical experience in a medical office environment.
  • EPIC Experience: Proficiency in using EPIC electronic health record system.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle patient interactions with professionalism and sensitivity.
  • Administrative Skills: Experience in managing patient appointments, insurance processing, and maintaining accurate records.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Additional Experience: Previous experience as a patient registrar or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting.
Education:
  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Languages:
  • English: Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
