HOME MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN- FT 40 HOURS


Job Summary: Tasks are directed at services that improve, restore or maintain a clean, sanitary and safe living environment for Licking County seniors. Must be willing and have the ability to drive to any location in Licking County to provide services for clients. Will also assist with light maintenance and event setup work at agency.

Essential Duties:

  • Light carpentry, unclogging drains, wall repairs, light bulb/fuse replacement, hanging pictures/bulletins/dry erase boards.
  • Moving appliances and furniture.
  • Carpet and furniture cleaning.
  • Power washing of decks, steps, and ramps.
  • Shoveling and salting of sidewalks.
  • Replacing mailbox, post, and numbers.
  • Seasonal outdoor yard and lot maintenance.
  • Install smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, changing furnace filters.

Personal & Professional Attributes: Demonstrate sensitivity, empathy, and understanding of the needs of older, impoverished, and developmentally disabled individuals; display common sense and good judgment and actively promote LCAP to the public. Uphold the highest level of confidentiality, honesty, and integrity, and always represent the organization positively and professionally.


Core Technology Competencies: Demonstrated working knowledge of a tablet for work purposes, notes, and how to use GPS for directions.


General Requirements: Commitment and desire to provide excellent service to all clients and aging community members. Maintain predictable and regular attendance, work stated hours, communicate, comprehend, and follow policies and procedures, and develop and maintain positive working relationships with all staff. Must be able to perform all job responsibilities satisfactorily and meet the same job title's physical requirements. All employees must possess and maintain a Valid Ohio Driver’s License and the minimum auto insurance coverage for Ohio (must be able to provide proof upon request). All job offer applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and urine drug screening.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Must be a high school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License is required.
  • Employees are required to carry at least the State minimum (for Ohio) auto insurance coverage and be able to provide proof upon request.
  • Must possess the ability to relate to and assist the elderly.
  • Must have good communication and customer service skills .
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions, prioritize tasks, and work effectively with a team.
  • Must have general handyman and light maintenance skills with knowledge of various tools and equipment. Must be able to work without constant supervision and keep accurate records.
