Maintenance Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preventive Maintenance, including (but not limited to):
- Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
- Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
- Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
- Change filters.
- Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
- Daily inspection of facilities, keep checklist.
- Prepares reports documenting work performed.
- Replace damaged parts, bearings, rolls, hoses, motors, shafts, belts, web guides, etc.
Operations Support:
- Troubleshoot any issues reported by operators.
- Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
- Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.
- Prepares reports documenting work performed.
- Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies as well as orders replacement parts when required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Engineering / Project Support assistance
- Unloading and installing new equipment
- Collaborates with product manager or plant engineer regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.
- Makes necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required.
Plant Systems maintenance (where assigned)
- Generator test (bi weekly)
- Oxidizer maintenance: belts, solenoids, filters (Troubleshooting when required)
- Line Inkjet printing systems.
- Building systems including Fire Safety systems maintenance & inspection.
- Cleaning of chopper motor blades(weekly), unclog chopper room pipes.
- 5 years of related work experience and technical training.
- High school graduate or GED required, technical school training in maintenance related courses are preferred.
- Ability to understand and interpret design documents, manufacturer s specifications and written operational procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure teamwork and positive client/tenant/co-worker relations.
- Be able to take direction and follow instructions.
- Must be safety conscious.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
- Basic aptitude for mathematics
- Capable of doing extensive walking, climbing of stairs and ladders, lifting/carrying a minimum of 50 pounds by applying proper body mechanics
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new job-related software.
- Have working knowledge of tools and their proper use.
