The Pump Shop Supervisor reports directly to the FMR Manager of Facility Operations and is responsible for supporting projects spanning across production, facilities, and maintenance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensures that all safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and met• Familiar with HAZWOPER and RCRA safety requirements as they related to the handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. • Ensures material is properly marked, labeled, and manifest shipment is in accordance with DOT regulations and Company policies. • Interviews potential candidates for positions within their team.• Manages the day-to-day operations of the pump shop• Safely operates the pump truck and manages all pumping operations. • Safely operates the wastewater treatment plant in accordance with permit requirements. • Ensure pre-operational checklists are completed. • Trains employees and safety, compliant operational practices for the pump truck and wastewater treatment plant. • Responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance of pump shop equipment• Trouble shoots equipment and makes minor repairs.• Responsible for taking care of quality standards, costs and performing the work according to schedule• Provides daily feedback of work progress and quality results• Guarantees the readiness of all machines and equipment in the responsibility area• Provides daily safety instructions to the pump shop team• Immediately reports all accidents, near misses, and injuries involving employees to the Safety Manager and Supervisor.• Provides actionable input for pump shop continuous improvement.• Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to pass an extensive background check- Must be able to pass a company physical- Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook - Experience Operating and maintaining a pump truck- OSHA 10hr trained
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience executing pumping operations within a shipyard environment- Possess CDL License- Experience operating wastewater treatment plant- Possesses OSHA 30hr Certification- Possesses RCRA certification- HAZWOPER 24hr Certification- HAZWOPER 40hr Certification- Shipyard Competent Person Certified- USCG Person In Charge (PIC) Training/Certification
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke. Work may be carried on indoors or outdoors and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A range of motion sufficient to perform general lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, climbing, working at heights, extended walking or standing, etc. is required.
