  • FT - 10 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
  • Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
  • The Surgical Services Assistant performs procedures relating to patient transport, patient positioning, decontamination of environment, room preparation, and supply control.
  • Collaborates with team members to provide quality care.
  • Supports the Professional Practice & Caring Model Principles practiced at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
  • Performs transporting responsibilities of both patients and supplies as assigned.
  • Assists circulating nurse as directed.
  • Performs housekeeping responsibilities in the department, including ASU, Central Sterile, and Surgery.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies.
  • May be required to work variable shifts.
Requirements
  • Ability to concentrate for long periods of time, work independently and exercise good judgment.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to meet department needs.
Education/Certifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Must meet State mandated criteria.
Experience
  • No previous experience required.
