Scribe II

Center for Bone & Joint Surgery of the Palm Beaches is a multi-location medical practice devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of injuries and diseases of the body's musculoskeletal system. Our locations feature a staff of highly trained orthopedic surgeons, each with a specific area of expertise.

Center for Bone & Joint Surgery offers a team approach to your care and provides a variety of services right on campus designed for your convenience and ensuring an outstanding continuum of care. These include on-site X-ray, on-site MRI, on-site physical therapy, and aquatic therapy.

As Center for Bone & Joint Surgery of the palm Beaches continues to grow, we are looking for a Scribe II- Must be willing to travel to Jupiter and Port St. Lucie

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Accurate, timely charting of patient encounters, including but not limited to patient history, physical exams, diagnostic
findings, lab and test results, consultations with other providers, treatment course, diagnoses, discharge instructions and
prescriptions.
• Professional, non-intrusive interaction with patients (the Scribe does not directly assist with patient care), physicians, and
other co-workers.
• Compliance with HOPCo policies, including those relating to confidentiality of patient information.
• Assist with all aspects of patient coordination of care as deemed necessary.
• Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to training other Scribes and staff.
*The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for job position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Graduation from an accredited/certified scribe training program, medical assistant training program, or other healthcare related program including medical school, P.A., N.P. CRNA, RN education programs; AND,
• Six (6) months of experience in a hospital or medical group setting, preferably in orthopedics

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to type 60+ WPM

KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of health care field and orthopedics.
• Knowledge of policies and procedures with regard to patient care in the clinic.
• Knowledge of patient confidentiality, state laws, HIPAA regulations, and medical records procedures.

SKILLS

• Keyboard proficiency
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high professional ethical standards.
• Must be able to problem solve under pressure
