Job Description

As a Business Analyst II, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. You will be responsible for gathering and prioritizing business requirements, defining product features, and managing product backlogs to ensure our development teams deliver high-quality software solutions that align with client goals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and client stakeholders, to ensure that products deliver significant business value. Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and SAFE is highly desirable. This role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach to managing business requirements and stakeholder expectations.

 

Job Location: Hybrid office/remote - in our office in Minneapolis 2-3 days per week

Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyze, and prioritize business requirements throughout the product lifecycle, from discovery to delivery and beyond.

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and translate them into actionable product requirements.

  • Manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with the overall product strategy and business objectives.

  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.

  • Communicate product vision, strategy, and priorities to stakeholders at all levels.

  • Gather and incorporate customer feedback to inform product decisions and iterations.

  • Ensure that products meet customer needs and business objectives.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, user stories, and process flows.

  • Facilitate product-related meetings and provide regular updates to team members and stakeholders.

  • Support the development team in understanding business requirements and resolving any ambiguities.

  • Promote a focus on value creation, fostering a culture of experimentation and continuous learning within the product team.

  • Implement and adhere to Agile practices and principles.

Qualifications

Skills - Need to have:

  • 2+  years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner in software development.

  • Experience in gathering and documenting business requirements.

  • Experience in software consulting or software product development.

  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and tools.

  • Ability to translate business needs into actionable business requirements.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques.


 

Skills - Nice to have:

  • Consulting skills, including client engagement, strategic problem-solving, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable software solutions.

  • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI/machine learning.

  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBi).

  • Understanding of UX/UI design principles.

  • Familiarity with multiple Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).

  • Certification in business analysis, product ownership, or related fields.
