These analysts must be adept at analyzing substantial amounts of data and identifying the root causes of supply chain issues.
Typical projects for a supply chain analyst may include:
  • Improving the management structure of a warehouse stocking program.
  • Restructuring the process of how material goods are delivered to the corporation's warehouse.
  • Enhancing the company's relationships with suppliers and carriers.
Supply chain analysts must also be capable of translating business problems into solutions for information technology (IT) technicians and using SQL analysis tools to detect patterns and root causes of issues. The role typically involves working in an office setting during regular business hours, with occasional site visits to locations such as warehouses.
