Junior Cloud Network Security Engineer

Job Description:

As a Junior Cloud Network Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our cloud-based systems and networks against cyber threats. You will work closely with our senior security professionals to implement and maintain robust security measures, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our data and services. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud network security solutions, utilizing industry best practices and technologies.
• Monitoring and analyzing network traffic for signs of unauthorized access, intrusions, or other security breaches.
• Performing regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and address potential security risks.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into cloud infrastructure and applications.
• Responding to security incidents in a timely manner, conducting thorough investigations, and implementing remediation measures.
• Keeping abreast of emerging threats and security trends, and recommending proactive measures to enhance our security posture.
• Documenting security policies, procedures, and configurations, and providing training and guidance to other team members as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, VLANs, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience with cloud security services and controls.
• Knowledge of common security frameworks and standards, such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS Benchmarks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and recommend effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA Security, CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Security – Specialty) are a plus.
