Job Summary:
The Delivery Service Representative is expected to maintain a positive representation of Secor Lumber Co., Inc. both on the road and off. The main task of a delivery driver is to perform delivery of customers orders and provide setup and operational instruction to the customer as needed. They should also perform in a manor consistent with our customer experience objectives and company values, meeting the needs of contractors and project owners alike. This role includes the appropriate use of company vehicles and equipment to deliver in a safe and timely manner.

Their job will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
  • Inspect the vehicle before starting that days deliveries to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition.
  • Assist in the loading and/or securing of residential and commercial building products on trucks.
  • Verifying materials and quantities for accuracy prior to departure.
  • Delivering products and materials to customers job sites using the most efficient route available while observing and obeying all traffic laws and safety
    regulations as well as company policies/procedures.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers to update them on the status of their delivery.
  • Unload/assist unloading, according to customer specifications, products and materials at the customers job site; by hand, tilt bed, or piggyback(Moffett).
  • Review orders with customers to ensure it is correct.
  • Responsible for securing returning loads on the company vehicle prior to leaving the job site.
  • Assist with other tasks in the store as needed.
  • Adhere to all store policies and safety standards.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the inside and outside of delivery vehicles.
  • Assists in yard and warehouse with stocking, loading and organizing materials.
  • Assist customers in the yard with loading material and product questions when not driving a delivery truck.
Qualifications:
  • Outstanding customer service skills and a professional attitude.
  • Organized, self-starter who thinks independently and solves problems.
  • Strong math, reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to bend, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors under adverse weather conditions.
  • Must be 21 years old or older.
  • An acceptable driving record and valid state CDL Class A License
  • Must have current and valid Medical Certification Card.
Goals:
  • Success will be measured by consistent, on-time deliveries to customers.
  • Become a more versatile employee by learning more about products stocked in the store, with the goal of being able to answer product and project-related questions.
