We are currently searching for a Diesel Weekend Fleet Supervisor who will be responsible for performing a variety of preventative maintenance tasks and repairs on company assets, diagnoses issues, and oversees the work of lower-level mechanic staff. This position develops schedules, conducts inventory counts, schedules, performs and maintains inspection records, and administers the parts inventory.\


Responsibilities for the Diesel Weekend Fleet Supervisor:


  • Is available for shifts scheduled Friday, Saturday, Sunday 8am-8pm or Saturday, Sunday, Monday 8am- 8pm.
  • Perform a variety of preventative maintenance tasks and repairs on company assets.
  • Develop schedules for performing assigned duties.
  • Exercise direct and indirect oversight of lower-level mechanic staff.
  • Prioritize, monitor and complete mechanical repairs to vehicles and equipment.
  • Ensure safe work practices, work quality and accuracy.
  • Comply with applicable safety policies and department procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with the preventative maintenance program for vehicles.
  • Perform or assist with the more difficult duties of the work unit, including complex mechanical equipment diagnosis and repair.
  • Diagnose issues in semi-trucks and tractor-trailers to meet the standards set forth by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
  • Maintain appropriate work records and documents, which may include inspections, repairs, maintenance schedules and purchases.
  • Train assigned personnel.
  • Schedule, perform and maintain inspections records.
  • Oversee the removal of hazardous waste and recycling materials.
  • Immediately report any unsafe practices or safety violations and make corrections.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • At least three years of experience performing diesel engine maintenance and repairs
  • At least six months of supervisory experience
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight or supervision
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts on holidays
  • Must have own tools
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a DOT inspection license
  • Working knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical and ABS systems
  • Reliable transportation


Preferred Skills & Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)
  • Valid commercial drivers license (CDL)
  • Completion of an accredited two-year technical program
  • Welding or fabrication experience


Hours:


  • Shifts scheduled Friday, Saturday, Sunday 8am-8pm or Saturday, Sunday, Monday 8am- 8pm.


Compensation:


  • $30-35/hr
