Job Purpose:

The Director of Finance & Accounting will oversee and manage all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, benefits administration, and employee records. This role is a vital point of contact for the leadership team and is accountable for managing cash flow efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle all financial operations independently, including:
    • Financial reporting and analysis
    • Accounts payable/receivable
    • Cash receipts
    • General ledger management
    • Payroll processing and benefits administration
    • Budgeting and financial forecasting
    • Revenue and expenditure variance analysis
    • Bank and trust account statement reconciliations
    • Check runs
    • Fixed asset activity
    • Collections
    • Debt service management and analysis
    • Monitoring for Delinquent A/P accounts
  • Produce accurate and timely financial statements and reports
  • Ensure prompt completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
  • Manage the daily banking requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all banking and financial regulations
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to set and achieve department goals
  • Manage the cash flow to ensure financial stability and efficient resource utilization
  • Participate in strategic decision-making by providing financial insights
  • Implement new procedures to enhance efficiency and financial control
  • Coordinate annual audits and provide relevant documentation to external auditors
  • Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks
  • Oversee employee onboarding/offboarding, maintain accurate employee records, and assist with employee queries

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in finance and accounting roles within a small or medium-sized business, preferably in a manufacturing or growth-focused company
  • MBA in Accounting is preferred
  • Strong understanding of cash flow management, bookkeeping, and financial regulations
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Adaptable to change and capable of handling multiple tasks in a growing company

Performance Expectations:

  • Timely and accurate completion of financial tasks
  • Ability to communicate the company's financial and cash positions at any time
  • Proactive participation in problem-solving and decision-making processes
