LoveWorks Academy is looking for a dance teacher who will work with all students in a format to teach dance, history, and establish a goal of dance and education. The candidates will learn about different forms of artistic expression and be able to teach it to scholars.
Position Overview: LoveWorks Academy seeks a passionate and experienced Dance Teacher to join our dynamic team. The Dance Teacher will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive dance curriculum fostering students' creativity, skill development, and self-expression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging and age-appropriate dance lessons for students in accordance with curriculum standards and objectives.
- Teach various dance styles, including but not limited to ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, and cultural dances.
- Create a positive, inclusive learning environment promoting student confidence, teamwork, and respect.
- Plan and coordinate performances, recitals, and showcases to showcase students' progress and talents.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their technique, artistry, and performance skills.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate dance education into interdisciplinary projects and events.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding students' progress, upcoming events, and opportunities for involvement.
- Stay informed about current trends, developments, and best practices in dance education through professional development and continuing education opportunities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during dance classes and performances by enforcing studio rules and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Dance Education, Performing Arts, or related field (preferred).
- PELSB Tier license (2-4)
- Proven experience teaching dance to students of varying ages and skill levels.
- Proficiency in multiple dance styles and techniques.
- Strong choreography skills and creative vision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
- Dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
- Ability to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
