The Supplier Quality Assurance Technician performs all First Article Inspections. They will also review and request disposition of nonconforming materials. They are responsible for communicating all Supplier Quality issues to the suppliers. Maintain focus on a long-term supplier development program.


Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for assuring purchased parts & raw material received are of acceptable quality.
  • Perform First Article Inspections in house and at supplier facilities.
  • Utilize correct inspection methods, procedures & documentation utilizing prints and other specifications.
  • Communicate effectively internally and externally.
  • Perform supplier audits to confirm capabilities meet or exceed required quality levels.
  • Identify quality problems and perform reporting, solution development, and documentation.
  • Utilize root cause analysis and corrective action measures.
  • Direct corrective actions to the department responsible if internal and/or to the supplier if external.
  • Make decisions as to compliance with quality standards and specifications of all purchased products.
  • Drive the establishment of product inspection policies & procedures, along with all relevant reporting.
  • Conduct inspection and determine if parts are to be scrapped or reworked.
  • Conduct inspection and deficiencies in engineering prints or specifications.
  • Maintain timely and effective communication with appropriate personnel in interfacing departments.
  • Implement improvements in inspection process, procedures, and documentation.
  • Promotes and conducts good housekeeping skills (5S).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Capable of Operating a CMM Arm
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three to five years’ QA experience. Experience with heavy machinery preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Understand Root Cause analysis and developing counter measures.
  • Knowledge of inspection methods (Height gage, micrometer, calipers, bore gages).
  • Ability to read drawings, tolerancing and calculate tolerance stack ups.
  • Ability to understand and interpret all Bomag Specifications.
  • Ability to analyze and present data effectively.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
  • Proficient in MS office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with ability to develop strong professional working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work situations.
  • Strong quality orientation and high attention to detail, organized.
