We are looking for a competitive insurance agent candidates for the Farmers Insurance Protg Program. Our protg agents work for qualified mentor agents around Michigan to learn and sell our product portfolio, ways to market and run an insurance agency from top to bottom. Our Protg program is essentially a paid internship program (base+ commission) to help prepare you for starting OR taking over an existing book of business.

We are seeking a passionate, self-driven, natural born salesperson with a desire to make a difference in peoples lives. Candidates understand that it takes time to build a business, to develop the proper skills and understanding to excel in this field. We provide our Proteges with ongoing training and support on their path to success so they can best serve the Farmers customers

Candidates will generate new business by contacting potential customers. You will sell, solicit, differentiate and negotiate insurance plans that match the needs of your assigned or prospective customers portfolio. The goal is to build up strong positive relationships, to ensure growth attainment and increase the agency's reputation while gaining the knowledge and experience to launch your own agency.

Responsibilities

Craft insurance quotes, deliver compelling sales presentations, and successfully seal deals.

  • Engage with our enthusiastic leads.
  • Foster robust client relationships and provide timely follow-ups when required.
  • Proficiently assess prospects' needs and pinpoint sales prospects.
  • Build and manage a comprehensive database of existing and potential clientele.
  • Articulate and showcase the advantages of our services effectively.
  • Stay abreast of developments in competing products and services.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for achieving ambitious sales targets.
  • Embrace an atmosphere of camaraderie and competition while enjoying the journey with our vibrant team

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to obtain insurance licensing through the state of Michigan.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Previous sales experience is required; training will be provided.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a passion for sales and customer service.
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and engaging with clients over the phone.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
