What does a Facilities Maintenance Technician do?

Requirements for this Facilities Maintenance Technician job

To excel in the role of full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, candidates should possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in building maintenance. A basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry is essential, with additional skills being a definite advantage. A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position.

The ability to work independently and effectively manage time is crucial to ensure tasks are completed promptly and efficiently. Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail are key attributes that will contribute to success in maintaining and enhancing our facilities located throughout the Cities of Hampton and Newport News.

The knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Two (2) years of experience in building maintenance.
