Armed Security Officer - Professional Protection Corp
About the Role: We seek dedicated and reliable Armed Security Officers to join our team at Professional Protection Corp. As an Armed Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of our clients and their assets, particularly in the southern part of Indianapolis. We offer full-time positions for afternoon and overnight shifts only.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas to maintain order and establish presence.
- Monitor and authorize the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain the security of the premises.
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, de-escalate, protect others, and report perpetrators' actions according to legal protocol upon the arrival of authorities.
- Observe and report activities and incidents.
- Safeguard client's property and personnel.
- Control access to the client's site/facility.
- Prepare logs and reports.
- Conduct routine inspections and patrols (foot or mobile).
- Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
- Secure all exits, doors, and windows after the end of operations.
- Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts.
- Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions.
- Provide assistance to people in need.
- You must have your own firearm and outside-the-waist holster before applying.
- Ability to handle firearms and pass a marksmanship test.
- You must have a cell phone with active service.
- You must have your own vehicle.
- Open availability/flexible schedule for afternoon and overnight shifts.
- You must be able to pass a background check.
- Strong observational and communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent surveillance and observation skills.
- Ability to write detailed reports/essays documenting witnessed events.
- Starting pay of $15.00/hour.
- Guaranteed work hours; paid training provided.
