Are you ready to showcase your problem-solving and customer-centric skills as a seasonal lifeguard at YMCA of Reading & Berks County? To excel in this role, you'll need to maintain active surveillance of the pool area, know and review emergency procedures, and respond swiftly to emergencies following YMCA policies. Building positive relationships with members and staff, understanding safety rules, and keeping meticulous records are essential for success. Your attention to detail will be crucial as you perform equipment checks, ensure a clean environment, and assist with various tasks as needed. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Minimum age of 16.
  • Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen.
  • Current YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent.
  • Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness.
  • Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
