Job Summary
Superior Instrument division, a facet of the company dedicated to supplying land surveyors and contractors with the latest technology, equipment, supplies and training to keep their jobsites running efficiently and effectively, is currently hiring for a technician.
This position will be providing repair and calibration support for all laser and optical equipment the division offers. The successful candidate should be eager and willing to learn all aspects of the Instruments Division.
Responsibilities:
· Install, calibrate, and configure laser and optical instruments, including lasers, spectrometers, and microscopes, according to manufacturer specifications and customer requirements
· Perform routine maintenance and repairs on laser and optical equipment, including diagnosing and troubleshooting faults, replacing faulty components, and ensuring optimal performance
· Provide training and technical support to users on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instruments.
· Attend technical training provided by existing vendors and remain knowledgeable about all vendor offerings
· Process and assist customer orders both in-store and on the Superior Instrument eCommerce website
· Receiving Intercompany and inbound shipments, stocking and transferring of product
· Keep the showroom clean and always organized
· Other duties as required
Job Requirements:
· High school diploma, GED or equivalent
· Minimum of 2 years of sales experience preferred
· Minimum of 2 years of repair/technical work preferred
· Affinity for electronics, tooling and/or repair service
· Ability to lift 30 lbs.
In addition to the primary responsibilities outlined above, the employee may be required to perform other related duties as assigned by their supervisor. These duties will vary in nature but are all integral to the successful operation and continuous improvement of the department. The employee is expected to adapt to the dynamic needs of the organization, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to unforeseen tasks and challenges. This includes, but is not limited to, participating in special projects, assisting with departmental initiatives, and providing support across various functions to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness.
