Job Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise vendor/contractors in routine maintenance and repair of facility


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment
  • Solicit bids and price quotes from vendors and contractors
  • Supervise vendor/contractors in routine maintenance and repair of facility
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree preferred.


Experience:

  • Experience in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC and use of tools in each specific trade.
  • Prior commercial building maintenance experience strongly preferred.


Other Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Possess valid Utah driver’s license.
  • Ability to work independently, quickly, and efficiently.
  • Strong customer-oriented work attitude.
  • Knowledge, experience, and skills to perform basic maintenance projects.
  • Ability to climb, lift, bend, and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.


Performance Requirements:


Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

Skills:

  • Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
