The Welder / Assembly Technician interprets blueprints, drawings, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate assembly, braze, and straightening in order to build complex assemblies to drawing requirements. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Commitment to and support of the Company Core Values are key to success in this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, diagrams and/or schematics
- Assemble, braze, and straighten complex assemblies to specification
- Tig Welding, Aluminum
- Measure and inspect assemblies to specification
- Perform chemical cleaning, chromate, and humidity testing as required
- Identify potential issues/problems and recommend corrective action measures
- Complete all paperwork and documentation required with order
- Meet customer requirements by following work instructions including work orders and specification sheets
- Independently operate equipment in an efficient and safe manner while meeting required quality standards
- Follow Company personnel and product safety requirements
- Follow proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with State and Federal laws
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. - Must be able to follow instructions and procedures and work with minimal supervision.
- Must be capable of reading drawings and inspecting the work being performed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 6 months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
