Pharmacy Clerk (Spanish Bilingual) - Oakland, CA

Compensation: Starts at $18 - $19 Hourly

Nexus HR is looking for a Pharmacy Clerk for a reputable client in the Oakland, CA area. The ideal candidate does not need any experience as a Pharmacy Clerk and be adept at reading/interpreting prescription terminology and medications.

About the Job

The Pharmacy Clerk will work with the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technicians to deliver excellent customer service while performing various clerical duties, including typing prescriptions and answering phone calls. Greet customers; receive and process prescriptions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to inquiries in person and over the phone.

  • Process necessary prescription, insurance, and customer information

  • Prepare accurate orders for the pharmacy technician and/or pharmacist to fill

  • File prescriptions and records on occasion

  • Perform various clerical duties as needed.

  • Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of Personal Health Information as required by HIPAA.

Qualifications:

  • No experience needed - On-the-job training will be provided

  • Speaks Spanish

  • Verifiable High School diploma or GED

  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Above-average typing skills.

  • Adept at reading/interpreting prescription terminology and medications.

  • Able to function in a close team environment.

  • Able to meet specified production and quality standards.

  • Able to identify and recognize commonly used generic drugs and the route of administration.

  • Able to identify common Latin symbols in prescriptions.

  • Able to calculate dosage and days supply.

  • Possess high levels of reliability, accuracy, professionalism, and customer focus
